EQUIPMENT:EMERGENCY:FIRE SUPRESSION

Volvo Bus Corporation (Volvo Bus) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Volvo 9700 buses. Metallic debris within the electrical connectors of the Automatic Fire Suppression System (AFSS) may cause a short circuit, resulting in a false warning to the driver, an engine shutdown, and the release of chemical fire extinguishing agent in the engine compartment.

Risk: An unexpected engine shutdown increases the risk of a crash. Additionally, a disabled coach bus may require an evacuation procedure in an uncontrolled traffic situation, increasing the risk of injury to passengers.

Remedy: Prevost will inspect and remove any metallic debris from the AFSS connectors, if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 28, 2025. Owners may contact Prevost's customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Prevost's number for this recall is SR25-85. The repair is free at any franchised dealer of your brand.

Volvo Bus Corporation (Volvo Bus) is recalling certain 2025 Volvo 9700 buses. The emergency exit labels that provide exit identification and operating instructions may not be secured properly, allowing the labels to detach. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."

Risk: Missing emergency exit labels can prevent or delay the use of the emergency exit, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Prevost will replace the emergency exit labels, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed December 19, 2024. Owners may contact Prevost customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Volvo Bus' number for this recall is SR24-86. The repair is free at any franchised dealer of your brand.
