What we collect
When you check a vehicle, your VIN or year/make/model is sent to our server to look up reported recalls. We do not store your VIN. When you join a recall watchlist, we store the email address you give us and the year, make and model you ask us to watch, along with your consent choices and the time and page where you gave them.
We use a standard web-analytics tag (Google Tag Manager) to understand aggregate usage. We do not sell your personal information.
How we use it
We use your email and watched vehicle to send the recall alerts you asked for, and, only if you separately opted in, occasional product news. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example California's CCPA/CPRA, or Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Texas privacy laws), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of certain processing. To exercise these rights, email privacy@recallnotify.com.
Retention
We keep watchlist subscriptions until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. We remove unsubscribed records on a regular schedule.
