FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: SENSING SYSTEM: RADAR

Altec Industries, Inc. is recalling certain 2025-2026 Digger Derrick and 2025-2026 Aerial Device vehicles. The front end radar was improperly installed, which may result in improper operation of the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Active Brake Assist (ABA).

Risk: While driving, the brakes may activate unexpectedly without the driver's input, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Altec will inform the owners to inspect the front end radar installation and if installed incorrectly, instruct owners to take the vehicle to an OEM Chassis dealer to have the radar remounted and calibrated, free of charge. Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2025 AC Series Crane and DT Series Digger Derrick vehicles. The harness intended to prevent Altec installed lighting from overloading the chassis lighting circuit was not installed, which may result in a loss of power to the body lighting or trailer lights.

Risk: Loss of body lighting or trailer lights increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Altec will notify owners to inspect their vehicle for the harness. If the harness is missing, a repair kit will be provided, free of charge. Risk: An incorrect pressure rating may lead to underinflated tires, increasing the risk of a tire blowout or a crash.

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2021-2025 Digger Derrick and 2021-2025 AM Series Aerial Device vehicles. The chassis engine may start unintentionally due to a missing diode in the Altec power distribution module.

Risk: An engine that starts unexpectedly increases the risk of injury to anyone near the engine compartment during maintenance operations.

Remedy: Altec will provide instructions to inspect the power distribution module for a diode, and provide a repair kit as necessary, free of charge. Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2011-2025 Aerial Device, Digger Derrick, and 2022-2025 Service Body vehicles. The cable step wire rope assembly may be improperly secured, which can allow the cable entry step to detach from the vehicle.

Risk: A cable step that fails during use increases the risk of injury.

Remedy: Altec will provide owners with instructions to inspect the cable crimps. If the cables are improperly crimped, Altec will provide instructions and a kit to replace the wire rope assemblies. Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Aerial Device, and Digger Derrick vehicles. The front winch bumper may be secured with incorrect bolts, which can cause the bumper to detach from the vehicle.

Risk: A front bumper that detaches can become a road hazard and increase the risk of a crash. In addition, the bolts can fail suddenly during winch operation, increasing the risk of injury.
