FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL:DELIVERY:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS
Shyft Group (Shyft) is recalling certain 2022-2025 Spartan RV Chassis K2 vehicles equipped with Cummins L9 diesel engines. The remote fuel filter hose may separate from the fitting, causing a fuel leak and an engine stall.
Risk: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. An engine stall increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Shyft will work with the equipment manufacturer, Cummins, to replace the fuel hoses, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 10, 2025. Owners may contact RV Chassis customer service at 855-589-9836. The repair is free at any franchised dealer of your brand.

Shyft Group is recalling certain 2023-2025 Spartan RV K2, K3, and K4 chassis. The steering gear may have foreign material inside the gear that could build pressure within the system, resulting in a loss of power steering assist.
Risk: A sudden loss of power steering assist can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Shyft Group will remove and replace the steering gear, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 21, 2024. Shyft Group is recalling certain 2022-2024 Spartan RV K1, K2, K3, and K4 motorhome chassis. A vehicle control module software error may cause loss of drive power or loss of key safety functions, such as loss of head lights or windshield wipers.
Risk: A sudden loss of drive power, or reduced visibility from a loss of head lights or windshield wipers can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Shyft Group will update the vehicle control module software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 17, 2023. SUSPENSION:CRITICAL FASTENERS
Shyft Group is recalling certain 2023 Spartan K2 RV chassis. The fasteners attaching the front and rear suspension to the chassis frame may have insufficient strength.
Risk: The fasteners can break, allowing the suspension to shift and increasing the risk of a crash.

SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:SUPPLY:RESERVOIR/TANK
Shyft Group is recalling certain 2021-2023 Spartan K2 RV Chassis. The air brake supply reservoir is less than 12x the combined volume of air for all service brake chambers. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."
Risk: The undersized air brake supply reservoir may provide an insufficient air supply to properly operate the brakes during repetitive braking, reducing braking performance and increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Shyft Group will replace the air supply reservoir, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 23, 2022. Owners may contact Shyft Group customer service at 1-800-582-3454. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECU/ECM)
Shyft Group is recalling certain 2023 Spartan RV Chassis K2 vehicles. The engine control module (ECM) may experience an internal short-circuit, which can result in an unexpected engine shut down without the ability to restart the vehicle.
Risk: An unexpected engine shut down can increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a disabled school bus may require an evacuation procedure in an uncontrolled traffic situation, increasing the risk of injury to passengers.

Risk: A fractured steering gear can cause a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.
