ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING:SWITCHES/KNOBS/BUTTONS

Daimler Coaches North America (Daimler Coaches) is recalling certain 2009-2020 Setra S417 and 2012-2019 Setra S407 vehicles. The switches for the hazard warning lights, defroster, heating and air conditioning system, and fan speed may fail to illuminate correctly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, "Control and Displays."

Risk: The driver may be distracted by switches that are too bright or by searching for switches that are too dim or not illuminated, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: The remedy is currently under development. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 15, 2026. Owners may contact Daimler Coaches' customer service at 1-416-624-3558. The repair is free at any franchised dealer of your brand.

STRUCTURE:BODY:HOOD:HINGE AND ATTACHMENTS

Daimler Coaches North America (Daimler Coaches) is recalling certain 2009-2020 Setra S417 and 2012-2019 Setra S407 vehicles. The hinge on the engine compartment flap may crack, which could result in the flap detaching from the vehicle.

Risk: A detached engine compartment flap can become a road hazard, and increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will attach a restraining tether to the engine compartment flap, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on August 13, 2021. Owners may contact Daimler Coaches' customer service at 1-416-624-3558. Daimler Coaches' number for this recall is TI#: 75.00U21166A. This recall supersedes previous recall number 20V394.
