2006 Prevost X3-45: federal recalls on file

EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY:WHEELCHAIR LIFT/RAMP

Prevost Car (US) Inc. (Prevost) is recalling certain 2005-2024 X3-45, 2017-2019 and 2021-2023 X3-45 Commuter, 2006-2007, 2014, and 2018 H3-41, 2005-2020 and 2022-2024 H3-45, and 2019 H3-45 VIP buses equipped with a wheelchair lift. The wheelchair platform bridging device may be too steep, which can cause the wheelchair to become unstable. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 403, "Platform Lift Devices" and 404, "Platform Lift Installations."

Risk: An unstable wheelchair increases the risk of injury to lift occupants.

Remedy: Prevost will replace the wheelchair lift bridging device, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed April 25, 2025. Owners may contact Prevost customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Prevost's number for this recall is SR24-26. The repair is free at any franchised dealer of your brand.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY:CABLES

Prevost Cars, Inc. (Prevost) is recalling certain model year 2006-2010 X3-45 coaches manufactured January 11, 2006, to April 12, 2010. The affected vehicles have booster stud connections that may rust. As they rust, the stud may weaken and break, allowing the power cable to ground against the vehicle frame.

Risk: If the power cable electrically shorts against the frame, there would be an increased risk of a fire.

Remedy: Prevost will notify owners, and dealers will install a protective box over the connection to prevent the power cable from contacting the frame if it comes loose. Any cable that is corroded will be replaced, free of charge. The recall began on July 24, 2015. Owners may contact Prevost customer service at 1-800-463-7738.
