International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2027 IC Bus CESB school buses. The retractors may not lock, preventing the wheelchair from being properly secured.

Risk: An unsecured wheelchair can move during transit, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the retractors, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 3, 2026. STRUCTURE:BODY, STRUCTURE:CRITICAL FASTENERS

International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2023-2027 IC Bus CESB and 2025-2027 IC Bus EVSB school buses. The body panel joint may have been attached without sufficient epoxy coverage. As such these vehicle fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 221, "School Bus Body Joint Strength."

Risk: The body panels may separate during a crash, reducing structural integrity and increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and repair the interior vertical joint as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 18, 2026. International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2023-2027 IC Bus CESB school buses. The brake lines may have been installed with incorrect hardware, which can result in brake line damage and cause a leak.

Risk: A brake fluid leak can extend the distance required to stop, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the brake lines and brake line retainers as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 27, 2026. International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2023-2027 IC Bus CESB school buses. While carrying the maximum number of occupants, the bus may exceed Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) when the fuel tank and fluid reservoirs are full.

Risk: An incorrect GVWR may lead to unintentionally overloading the bus, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and repair suspension as necessary, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk were mailed by December 22, 2025. Owners will receive another notice once remedy becomes available, anticipated late May 2026. Owners may contact International customer service at 1-800-448-7825.
