2018 Setra S417 Tc: federal recalls on file

Daimler Coaches North America (Daimler Coaches) is recalling certain 2017-2020 Setra S417TC coaches. The front entrance door support frame may not be the correct size, and, as a result, the door may open and may detach from the vehicle while the coach is moving.

Risk: A detached door can increase the risk of injury to the coach occupants or the detached door could be a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Daimler Coaches will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front entrance door support frame and holders at the base of the support frame, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin May 29, 2020. Owners may contact Daimler Coaches customer service at 1-416-624-3558. Daimler Coach's number for this recall is 72.00M20089A. The repair is free at any franchised dealer of your brand.

Setra of North America

STEERING

Setra of North America (Setra) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Setra S417 TC and S407 CC motorcoaches. The steering drop arm nut may loosen, possibly causing a loss of steering control.

Risk: A loss of steering control can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Setra will notify owners, and dealers will replace the steering drop arm and nut, free of charge. The recall began on July 9, 2018. Owners may contact Setra customer service at 1-800-241-2947. Setra's number for this recall is 46.40U10716A. The repair is free at any franchised dealer of your brand.
