Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2019, 2021-2026 G5E school buses. The power steering pump may fail to start when the ignition is turned on or may shutdown unexpectedly.

Risk: A loss of power steering assist can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and update the software as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 18, 2026. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:PARK/NEUTRAL START INTERLOCK SWITCH

Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2025-2026 G5e school buses. The transmission interlock may allow the vehicle to be put into gear when the rear emergency door is locked. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."

Risk: An emergency exit that is locked can prevent or delay occupants from exiting the vehicle during an emergency, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and repair the transmission interlock as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 27, 2025.
