ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:PROPULSION SYSTEM:CRITICAL FASTENERS
International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2026-2027 IC Bus EVSB school buses. The mounting bracket bolts may have been improperly tightened, allowing the drive motor to detach.
Risk: A detach drive motor can become a road hazard for other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy: Dealers will tighten or replace the drive mounting bolts as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 27, 2026. International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2022-2027 IC Bus EVSB school buses. The high voltage disconnect switch may fail to shut off power to the battery.
Risk: Switch failure may lead to unintentionally working on an energized high voltage battery, increasing the risk of injury or death by electrical shock.
Remedy: Dealers will repair the high voltage disconnect connector bypass circuit, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 8, 2026. Owners may contact International's customer service at 1-800-448-7825. International's number for this recall is 26505. STRUCTURE:BODY, STRUCTURE:CRITICAL FASTENERS
International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2023-2027 IC Bus CESB and 2025-2027 IC Bus EVSB school buses. The body panel joint may have been attached without sufficient epoxy coverage. As such these vehicle fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 221, "School Bus Body Joint Strength."
Risk: The body panels may separate during a crash, reducing structural integrity and increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and repair the interior vertical joint as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 18, 2026.
