General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2022 BrightDrop EV600 vehicles. The front-drive unit may leak oil and cause an engine compartment fire.

Risk: A fire increases the risk of injury.

Remedy: GM will replace the vehicles, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 24, 2024. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-888-988-7267. There is one fleet customer that owns the vehicles so they are under warranty and reimbursement is not being offered. BrightDrop owners may contact customer service number 888-987-4377. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:PROPULSION SYSTEM:TRACTION BATTERY

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2022 BrightDrop EV600 and 2022-2023 GMC Hummer EV Pickup electric vehicles. The high voltage battery pack enclosure may not be properly sealed, allowing water to enter the pack.

Risk: Water accumulation in the high voltage battery pack can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: The remedy is currently under development. Owner notification letters were mailed April 13, 2023. Second letters will be sent once the remedy is available.
