EQUIPMENT:MECHANICAL:BOOM/CRANE/LADDER:HOSES/CABLES/RODS/GEARS/STRUT/CYLINDER

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2020-2021 D2000, 3000, and 4000 Derrick diggers. A retaining ring in the gearbox assembly was improperly seated during production, allowing the boom to unintentionally rotate freely.

Risk: Unintended boom movement increases the risk of injury.

Remedy: Altec will repair the gearbox assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on September 3, 2021. Owners may contact Altec's customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 827. The repair is free at any franchised dealer of your brand.
