What's wrong?
The house battery in the 2027 Forest River Leprechaun and Freelander supplies electricity to multiple 12V components through a main power feed wire. A breaker mounted at the positive battery post is supposed to protect that wire. If electrical current rises above the breaker's rated limit, the breaker cuts the circuit and stops the flow of power.
On affected recreational vehicles, a manufacturing error left that battery-post breaker out of the electrical system. The main feed wire therefore has no overcurrent protection between the house battery and the smaller breakers downstream. During an overload or electrical short, those smaller breakers do not protect the unprotected section of main wire at the battery. The missing breaker leaves that section energized instead of interrupting the excessive current.
There is no warning sign before failure. The missing breaker is an installation problem, so the electrical system can appear to work normally until an overload or short occurs.
