What's wrong?
The Contour cook top in the 2027 Trails West Rpm Freeride is a 2-burner LP gas appliance used for cooking inside the recreational trailer. Each burner is supposed to keep its flame above the cooktop surface while the galley furnace below it uses a separate air path. When the cabinet and cooktop housing are sealed correctly, the furnace does not pull air through the cooktop area.
On affected trailers, the cook top housing is not airtight. When the galley furnace in the cabinet below is running, it draws fresh air from the cooktop area instead of staying isolated from it. That airflow pulls the cooktop burner flame downward into the bottom of the cooktop housing. Trails West's repair adds an airtight aluminum pan, which blocks that air path.
Owners can see the problem as an inverted cooktop flame while the furnace is operating. If the flame is being pulled downward instead of staying above the burner, stop using the cooktop and furnace until the trailer is repaired.
