What's wrong?
The DC-DC converter in these 2019-2024 mild-hybrid vehicles is an electrical power module. It takes high-voltage hybrid power and converts it into 12-volt power for the regular electrical system. That 12-volt supply keeps controls, warning systems, exterior lighting, and other basic equipment powered while the vehicle is running.
On affected vehicles, an internal fault in the boost control microchip inside the converter can make the converter fail. When that happens, the 12-volt battery stops charging.
