Mitsubishi Fuso is recalling 244 2024-2025 Rizon FEC7K (E16), Rizon FEC9K (E18), and Rizon Fecxk (E18) trucks because the electrical control unit can send an error while the truck is idling and prevent it from being driven. What's wrong?
The DCB ECU software on the 2024-2025 Mitsubishi Fuso Rizon FEC7K (E16), Rizon FEC9K (E18), and Rizon Fecxk (E18) trucks helps the electric drive system share battery and control information. The battery management system reports state of charge, and the vehicle control unit uses that information to decide whether the truck is ready to drive.
On affected trucks, the electrical control unit sends error frames to the vehicle control unit. That error can make the state of charge display show 0% while the truck is standing, even when the battery is charged. In the worst case, the truck stays in standstill and cannot be driven until the system is reset.
There is no warning sign before failure. An ignition on and off cycle resets the truck and brings back the correct state of charge display, but the permanent repair is a software update to the battery management, DCB, and vehicle control systems.

What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Mitsubishi Fuso technician reprograms the battery management system and DC-Box software. The update addresses the error transmission from the electrical control unit that can keep the truck from being driven after idling. The recall repair is free, with parts and labor covered by the campaign. The service department files the recall claim through Rizon's warranty process after the software work is complete.
