What's wrong?
The alternator stator on these 2022-2024 Triumph motorcycles makes electrical current while the engine runs. Its wiring and main harness connector carry that current into the motorcycle's electrical system so the battery stays charged and the motorcycle's electrical loads stay powered. The connector has to pass high current without excess heat.
On affected motorcycles, the connection between the alternator wiring and the main harness connector overheats. Oil, engine heat, tiny contact wear inside the connector, and high current draw increase electrical resistance at the joint. Higher resistance creates more heat, and that heat exceeds the plastic connector body's limit. The wiring can short circuit, damage the connector, and overheat nearby parts.
There is no instrument warning sign before failure. Owners can spot visible damage around the connector, including blistered plastic, blackened housing, or darkened wires. In severe cases, smoke, scorched connectors, or heat damage to surrounding components are the signs to look for.
Who's affected?
The scope spans the Scrambler, Bonneville, Speed Twin, and Street Twin families across the 2022-2024 model years, with wiring and electrical-system components tied to the same alternator stator assembly.

- Stop riding and contact the dealer if you notice electrical overheating, burning smell, smoke, or other signs of wiring trouble before the repair.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Triumph technician will replace the 2-piece connector body with a single in-line crimped connector for each alternator wire that connects to the main harness. Parts and labor are covered once the campaign repair opens. Motorcycles that already received work under recall 24V785 still need this new remedy. For a repair already paid out of pocket, contact Triumph customer service about reimbursement under Triumph's April 2024 General Reimbursement Program and keep repair invoices or other documentation ready for review.
