What's wrong?
The upper control valve on 2025 Terex Tl-Series, HR40, HR46, Lt-Series, LTM40, and SCM55 aerial device vehicles sits at the platform controls. It directs hydraulic oil when an operator uses the boom, crane, ladder, or platform functions. In normal operation, the valve lets hydraulic flow move only when a control is selected and activated.
On affected vehicles, the valve assembly was built with the wrong NR plug. That plug changes how the hydraulic circuit behaves, so the engine loads the system when platform controls are selected even when the operator has not activated a function. The hydraulic equipment then runs hotter than designed, which creates an overheating problem during use. Terex identifies the incorrect NR plugs by color: the wrong plugs are black, and the correct plugs are silver.
An owner or operator can notice the engine working under load after selecting platform controls while no platform movement is commanded. The hydraulic oil can also run hotter than normal.

What's the safety risk?
If platform controls are selected but not activated, the engine stays under load and hydraulic oil runs hotter than normal. Touching overheated hydraulic parts increases the risk of burn injuries. Keep people clear of hot equipment and schedule the valve inspection and repair. Repair is free at any franchised Terex dealer.
