What's wrong?
The battery isolator switch in these Braun Ambulances emergency vehicles is part of the Pran electrical system. Its job is to manage battery power to the ambulance module and keep the system control screens powered when the vehicle starts. Those screens control access to electrical functions crews rely on, including interior lighting, exterior lighting, and patient support systems.
The problem is inside the Pran ECU04 battery isolator. Internal module components can disconnect, which cuts power to the system control screens. When that happens, the screens do not come on and the ambulance can lose those electrical systems instead of bringing them online at start up.
The warning sign appears when the vehicle is started. The Pran screens do not activate. That startup failure is the sign owners and operators are told to watch for before the ambulance is placed in service.

What's the safety risk?
Exterior lights can fail at startup, making the ambulance harder for other drivers to see and increasing crash risk. Patient support systems can also fail to activate, delaying care and increasing injury risk. If the Pran screens stay off at startup, keep the ambulance out of service and call Braun Ambulances or an authorized dealer. Repair is free at any franchised Braun Ambulances dealer.
