Porsche is recalling 172,107 2019-2025 Cayenne, 911, Taycan, Panamera, and related E-Hybrid vehicles because the rearview camera image does not display when the vehicle is shifted into reverse. A missing rear view reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle and increases crash risk; Porsche dealers will complete the recall repair free of charge.

What's wrong?
The affected 2019-2025 Porsche vehicles use driver assistance system control unit software to manage the rearview and Surround View camera feeds. When the driver shifts into Reverse, that software is supposed to receive the camera signal and show the rearview image on the vehicle display so the driver can see behind the vehicle.
In this recall, the exact root cause has not been identified. Porsche found that transient signal noise between the control unit and the cameras can interrupt the rearview camera signal in rare instances. Investigations also found increased shielding resistance in coaxial cables, linked to variations in crimp connections, which reduces protection from electromagnetic interference. The updated software is designed to resist that signal noise and restore interrupted camera operation.
The warning sign is immediate and visible. If this happens, the driver will notice that the rearview camera image is not displayed when the vehicle is placed in Reverse.

What's the safety risk?
When the rearview camera image fails to appear in Reverse, the driver has less visibility behind the vehicle. That reduced rear view increases the risk of a crash while backing. Check mirrors carefully and schedule the software update soon. Repair is free at any franchised Porsche dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2019-2025 Porsche 911, Cayenne, Cayenne E-Hybrid, Panamera, Panamera 4 E-Hybrid, Redundant Cayenne E-Hybrid, or Taycan is included in this recall.
- Contact your nearest franchised Porsche dealer to schedule the free driver-assistance software update that fixes the rearview-camera display failure.
- Bring the recall notice if Porsche mailed one. If not, reference recall number 25V896 when you call.
- Use mirrors and a direct look behind the vehicle when backing up until the software update is complete.
What happens at the repair
