What's wrong?
The wheelchair restraint retractor is the locking mechanism in the QRT-Deluxe and QRT-Max securement system. In affected 2010-2025 Honda mobility vehicles and listed models, it pulls the restraint webbing tight and locks it so the wheelchair stays secured during travel.
Inside the affected retractor, the automatic release function can bind because internal parts rub with too much friction. When that happens, the retractor does not lock as designed. The restraint still looks installed, but it does not hold the wheelchair with the securement the system is supposed to provide.
The warning sign is an unlocked retractor during a standard functional check or pre-trip inspection. An owner or caregiver can also notice abnormal wheelchair movement while the vehicle is in use. If either appears, the restraint needs inspection before the wheelchair position is used again.
Who's affected?
The scope spans mobility-equipped vans, pickups, and SUVs from 2010-2025, all using the same QRT-DELUXE wheelchair restraint retractor.

What's the safety risk?
An unsecured wheelchair can shift during transit, increasing the risk of injury. An unlocked retractor should be caught during the standard functional or pre-trip inspection, and abnormal wheelchair movement is a reason to pause passenger transport and call the dealer. Repair is free at any franchised Honda dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2010-2025 Honda vehicle with QRT-Deluxe or QRT-Max wheelchair restraints is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Honda dealer to schedule the free QRT wheelchair-restraint retractor inspection and replacement that fixes retractors that do not lock.
- Bring the owner letter if you received one. If not, reference recall number 25V876 when you call.
- Call Honda customer service at 1-800-956-6668 with questions about the free repair.
- Secure the wheelchair with extra care until the repair is complete, since an unlocked retractor can let the wheelchair move during transit.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Honda technician works with Q'Straint to inspect the QRT-Deluxe and QRT-Max wheelchair restraint retractors. If a retractor is suspect, it is replaced free of charge. The inspection focuses on whether the retractor locks the wheelchair restraint as it should, so the wheelchair is secured before the vehicle is used again. Parts and labor are covered under the recall.
