What's wrong?
The stabilizer bar bracket on affected 6500XD, Ftr, 7500XD, and Fvr vehicles holds the stabilizer bar to the frame. The stabilizer bar helps the front suspension control body lean as the truck turns, crosses uneven ground, or moves in and out of a driveway. The bracket and its mounting studs need to sit flat and carry that load together.
In this recall, the bracket's inside dimensions were not made to the design specification. Because the bracket does not fully seat against the stabilizer plate, tightening the mounting studs pulls the parts together under extra stress. That stress weakens the studs over time, and the bracket can crack, break, or detach from the vehicle.
Owners can hear a metallic clunking or banging noise from the front end. It is most likely while driving over rough terrain or when entering or leaving an incline or decline, such as a driveway.

What's the safety risk?
A detached axle stabilizer bracket can fall from the vehicle and create a road hazard for other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. A metallic clunking or banging noise from the front end is the warning sign listed for rough terrain or driveway grades. Schedule service promptly. Repair will be free at any franchised Chevrolet dealer once available.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2018-2026 Chevrolet 6500XD, Ftr, 7500XD, or Fvr is included in this recall.
- Wait for the second owner notice before scheduling the stabilizer bar bracket repair.
- Contact a franchised Chevrolet dealer after the final repair notice opens scheduling for the free bracket replacement.
- Reference recall number 25V719 when you call, and bring the owner notice if Chevrolet has mailed one.
- Keep the truck out of service if you see a loose or detached axle stabilizer bracket, and ask the dealer what to do before driving it.
