What's wrong?
In NHTSA campaign 25V673, the bedroom shelf in the 2025 Winnebago Access is the shelf mounted above the bed in the trailer. It is meant to stay fixed to its support cleats while the trailer is parked, loaded, or moving, so stored items and the shelf itself remain secured over the sleeping area.
On affected trailers, the shelf was secured to the cleats from the top side with pin nails. Pin nails are small fasteners, and in this installation they did not provide enough hold for the shelf. As the trailer is used and vibrates, the shelf can loosen, detach from its supports, and fall into the bed area. Winnebago's repair changes the attachment method by using screws and adding securement at the bottom of the shelf, not only at the top.
There is no warning sign before failure. A loose shelf, a gap at the cleat, or movement when touched means the shelf needs dealer attention before anyone sleeps below it.

What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Winnebago technician installs an additional cleat on both sides of the shelf above the bed, then secures the new cleats and the existing cleats so the shelf stays attached. The recall repair is free, with parts and labor covered. Winnebago used its general reimbursement plan for this recall, so documented out-of-pocket repairs paid before the recall notice are handled through that plan. Bring repair paperwork to the dealer or contact Winnebago customer service to ask how to submit it.
