Recall 25V657 affects 393,838 2022-2025 Toyota Tundra, Tundra Hybrid, and Sequoia Hybrid vehicles for rearview-image software failure. Repair is free at any franchised Toyota dealer.
Toyota is recalling 393,838 2022-2025 Tundra, Tundra Hybrid, and Sequoia Hybrid vehicles under recall 25V657 because a software error can keep the rearview image from displaying in reverse. That reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle and increases crash risk; Toyota dealers will update the software free of charge.

What's wrong?
The rearview camera image on the 2022-2025 Toyota Tundra Hybrid, Tundra, and Sequoia Hybrid appears on the 14-inch multimedia display in the center of the dash. When the driver shifts into reverse, camera data is sent to that display so the driver can see the area behind the vehicle. That image is part of the back-over prevention system.
On affected vehicles, the display software can lose synchronization while the camera view changes. The system uses four lanes of camera data, with counters keeping those lanes aligned. If unexpected signal noise happens during the pause in that change, the counters can move out of step. The display then shows a half-green, full-green, or black screen instead of the rearview image during a backing event.
There is no warning sign before failure. The first thing an owner notices is the rearview image missing or replaced by one of those screen conditions when the vehicle is in reverse.

What's the safety risk?
A rearview image that fails to display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle and raises the risk of a crash while backing up. Use extra care in reverse, check mirrors and surroundings, and schedule the software update soon. Repair is free at any franchised Toyota dealer.
What should I do?

- Bring the recall notice if Toyota mailed one, or reference recall number 25V657 and Toyota recall numbers 25TB10 and 25TA10 when you call.

What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Toyota technician updates the multimedia display software so the rearview image displays when the vehicle is shifted into reverse. The recall repair is available now, and parts and labor are covered. Toyota used its standard reimbursement plan for this campaign. If you already paid for a related multimedia display software repair before the recall notice, keep the repair order and payment records and contact Toyota customer service or ask the dealer service desk how to submit documentation.
