What's wrong?
The door lock on the 2026 Volvo Vnl (4) truck holds the right-side door closed and releases it when the interior handle is pulled. A cable links the inside handle to the latch module, so the handle movement reaches the lock and lets the door open from the cab.
On affected trucks, the cable end was installed with too little adhesive at the connection point. That weak bond lets the cable end move out of position inside the door latch module. When that happens, pulling the interior handle does not properly actuate the latch, and the door stays closed.
There is no warning sign before failure. The handle can feel normal until the cable connection slips, then the door does not open from the inside. If that happens, use another safe exit and have a Volvo dealer inspect the door lock.

What's the safety risk?
