What's wrong?
The HILT Chassis Jumper in 2024-2026 Storyteller Overland Gxv Hilt recreational vehicles is part of the auxiliary power wiring. It carries power between the added power system and the vehicle charging hardware, so the cable has to stay secured and protected inside the engine bay. Its normal job is to move current without touching hot engine parts.
On affected vehicles, that wiring was not routed consistently during assembly. The cable path did not include enough protection to keep it away from the intake manifold cover, a hot engine component. If the wire contacts that cover, heat and abrasion can damage the insulation or cable and create a thermal event in the engine bay.
There is no warning sign before failure. An owner should not expect a dashboard light, noise, or drivability change before the wiring is damaged.
Who's affected?
The same HILT chassis jumper appears in the wiring and electric propulsion system scope for each model year.
