Honda is recalling 7,492 2020, 2021, 2022, 2024, and 2025 CRF1100 motorcycles because corrosion in the left handlebar switch harness can disable the horn or high-beam headlight control. That loss of signaling or lighting control can increase crash or injury risk, and Honda dealers will complete the recall repair free of charge.

What's wrong?
The left handlebar switch harness on the 2020, 2021, 2022, 2024, 2025 Honda CRF1100 is the wiring inside the left switch pod. That switch pod lets the rider use handlebar controls such as the horn and the headlight high beam selector. The harness has to keep a steady electrical path while the handlebars move during normal riding.
On affected motorcycles, the harness bends repeatedly near the terminal joints, the small metal connection points inside the wiring. That bending creates tiny movement at the joint, which wears the contact surface and allows oxide to form. As corrosion builds, electrical resistance increases and the harness loses continuity. If the connection opens, the horn stops working or the headlight no longer switches from low beam to high beam.
The warning sign is intermittent loss of the horn or high beam switch function. If either control works one moment and fails the next, the switch harness is already showing the problem.
Who's affected?
This is not a continuous model-year span; the listed CRF1100 motorcycles are tied to the same handlebar switch assembly.

What's the safety risk?
If the horn or high beam switch cuts out, other road users receive less warning and night visibility is reduced, increasing the risk of a crash or injury. Treat intermittent horn or high beam loss as a reason to ride cautiously and schedule service soon. Repair is free at any franchised Honda dealer.
