What's wrong?
In these 2023-2026 American Coach motor homes, the waste tank macerator uses an electric motor to move waste through the plumbing system. That motor is protected by a 35-amp fuse in the wire harness fuse block, which is supposed to open the circuit when current gets too high. The fuse block also depends on each fuse sitting in the correct location for its circuit.
The recalled units were built with a generic 35-amp fuse instead of the specified Bussman fuse. Its terminals are thinner, so the fuse does not fit as tightly in the fuse block terminals. That loose connection creates extra heat during repeated macerator use, which can deform or melt the fuse and fuse holder. Some fuse blocks were also installed in an orientation that did not match the diagram key, which can put the wrong fuse rating on a circuit.
There is no driving warning sign before failure. A visual inspection can show a deformed or melted fuse or fuse holder.

What happens at the repair
At the dealer, an American Coach technician inspects the waste tank macerator fuse and fuse block holder for overheating or heat damage. If either part is affected, the technician replaces the fuse and fuse block holder as needed. The recall repair is free, including parts and labor. American Coach uses its standard reimbursement plan for this campaign. If you've already paid for a related fuse or fuse holder repair, bring repair paperwork and payment documentation to the service desk so the claim can be reviewed under that plan.
