The Hill Start Assist valve on these 2024-2026 International Lt and Rh trucks is part of the air-brake system. Hill Start Assist holds brake pressure briefly when a truck starts on a grade, so the truck does not roll before power reaches the wheels. The same valve is also used during Adaptive Cruise Control braking events.
