What's wrong?
The Fiamma F65 Eagle awning on 2020-2025 Grech Strada, Turismo, and Terreno motorhomes is a retractable exterior shade mounted along the side of the coach. In normal use, its motor and winch extend the fabric when parked and pull it back into a secured travel position before the motorhome moves.
On affected motorhomes, the awning control can fail to stop the motors at the right point. If the microswitch does not disengage the motors, the motors overpower the winch and damage the gears inside it. Once those gears are damaged, the awning no longer stays fully secured and can extend unintentionally during transit.
There is no warning sign before failure. An owner can find the awning deployed or partly extended after it has already moved, so the problem is not something to diagnose by sound, smell, or a dashboard light.

What happens at the repair
Grech has identified the dealer repair for this recall: a Grech technician will install a lock plate and replace the winch assembly connected to the retractable awning. Because the remedy status is still under development, do not assume the final repair appointment is open at every dealer yet. Once the repair is available, parts and labor are covered under the recall. Ask the service desk to confirm remedy availability before scheduling.
