What's wrong?
The brake line fitting on the 2024-2025 Tico Pro Spotter is a 90 degree elbow in the air brake supply system. It connects brake air lines so compressed air can move through the system and apply the brakes when the driver presses the pedal. On a truck with air brakes, the fittings have to seal under pressure and match the required DOT-certified brake hardware.
On affected trucks, the fitting supplied for a high-mount air cleaner configuration was visually similar to the correct part, but it was not DOT marked or certified. Tico traced the issue to a distribution source that supplied the wrong product. If that fitting does not perform like the certified part, the air brake system loses braking performance and the truck needs more distance to stop.
The warning sign is reduced braking or a longer stopping distance than normal. If the truck takes longer to slow down, treat that as the symptom tied to this recall.

What's the safety risk?
Reduced brake performance can make the Pro Spotter need more distance to stop and raises crash risk. If braking feels weaker or stopping distance grows, stop using the vehicle and call a franchised Tico dealer for inspection. Repair is free at any franchised Tico dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2024-2025 Tico Pro Spotter is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Tico dealer to schedule the free brake-line fitting inspection and replacement if needed, which corrects the non-DOT fitting tied to reduced braking performance.
- Bring the recall notice if you have it, and reference recall number 25V446 when you call.
- Drive cautiously until the repair is complete. Leave extra following distance and avoid hard braking when you can.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Tico technician inspects the brake line fitting and replaces it if the fitting is not compliant. The inspection, replacement part, and labor are free under the recall. Tico has a general reimbursement plan on file for owners who already paid for a related brake line fitting repair before the recall notice. Keep repair invoices and proof of payment, and contact Tico customer service at 1-843-536-8139 to ask how to submit documentation.
