What's wrong?
The hydraulic brake pressure switch on 2019-2025 International Cv vehicles is part of the brake pressure sensing circuit. It is supposed to detect brake hydraulic pressure and send that signal through a small switch and fuse harness, so the brake-related electrical system reads pressure correctly.
In affected vehicles, brake fluid can leak into the brake pressure switch and remain inside the switch or fuse harness. That fluid can travel along the copper wiring, reach the fuse holder, and create an electrical short. International traced the risk to residual brake fluid left in harnesses after an earlier recall repair when the harness was not replaced. The replacement harness uses anti-capillary wire, which blocks fluid from wicking up the copper.
