What's wrong?
The front turn signal lamps on 2025 Rivian R1S and R1T vehicles are the lower fascia direction indicator lamps at the front of the vehicle. They light and flash when the driver signals a turn or lane change, so other drivers and pedestrians can see the driver's intended direction. The lamp assembly has to illuminate reliably to meet the lighting standard for turn signals.
On affected vehicles, the front lamps were built with incorrectly manufactured supplier parts. That manufacturing issue can lead to an internal failure inside the lamp during use. When the failure happens, one or both front turn signals do not illuminate or flash, even though the rest of the vehicle is operating normally.
Drivers are not left without a notice. If a front turn signal lamp stops illuminating, the driver display shows "Turn signal lights not working. Service it soon." The remaining turn signal lamps also blink at double speed, and the turn signal sound doubles in speed.
Who's affected?
Covers both Rivian R1S SUVs and R1T pickup trucks from the 2025 model year, both using the same right-side lower turn signal lamp.

The year and model narrow the scope, but the VIN decides. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific vehicle is included.
What's the safety risk?
A front turn signal that fails to illuminate keeps other drivers from seeing your intended turn or lane change, increasing the risk of a crash. The driver display shows a turn signal service message, and the remaining signals blink and sound at double speed. Drive cautiously and schedule the inspection soon. Repair is free at any franchised Rivian dealer.
