Recall 25V369 affects 198,940 2022-2025 Mitsubishi Outlander and Outlander PHEV SUVs for a rearview camera software defect. Repair is free at any franchised Mitsubishi dealer.
Mitsubishi is recalling 198,940 2022-2025 Outlander and Outlander PHEV vehicles because a software error in the infotainment system can freeze the rearview camera image or leave the display blank. That reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle and increases crash risk; Mitsubishi dealers will complete the recall repair free of charge.

What's wrong?
The Alliance in-vehicle infotainment system, or A-IVI, is the center-screen system in the 2022-2025 Mitsubishi Outlander and Outlander PHEV. It handles display functions, including the rearview camera image that appears when reverse is selected. That image helps the driver see the area behind the vehicle while backing up.
On affected vehicles, the A-IVI software was not designed correctly. The unit can freeze, show a black screen, reboot, or fail to place the rearview camera image on the display. When that happens during a backing event, the screen no longer gives the rear visibility required by FMVSS 111.
There is no warning sign before failure. The first sign is the center screen freezing, going black, becoming unresponsive, or not showing the rearview camera image when the vehicle is shifted into reverse.

A matching year and model does not guarantee inclusion. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific SUV is included.
What's the safety risk?
When the rearview image does not display correctly, the driver has a reduced view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing crash risk while backing up. Use extra care when reversing and schedule the software update soon. Repair is free at any franchised Mitsubishi dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2022-2025 Mitsubishi Outlander or Outlander PHEV is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Mitsubishi dealer to schedule the free A-IVI software update that fixes the rearview camera display problem.
- Bring the recall notice if you have it, and reference recall number 25V369 when you call.
- Use extra care when backing up until the repair is complete, and check mirrors and surroundings before moving.
- Tell the dealer if your vehicle was repaired under recall 23V345; those vehicles still need this new remedy.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Mitsubishi technician updates the A-IVI software that controls the in-vehicle infotainment display. The update is free under the recall. Vehicles already repaired under recall 23V345 still need this new remedy completed because recall 25V369 replaces and expands the earlier action. If you've already paid for a related repair, Mitsubishi directs customers to submit the original repair order or invoice, plus the original receipt or proof of payment, to MMNA for reimbursement consideration.

Frequently asked questions
What is recall 25V369?
Recall 25V369 covers 198,940 2022-2025 Mitsubishi Outlander and Outlander PHEV vehicles with A-IVI software that can freeze the rearview camera image or leave it off the display. Mitsubishi dealers will update the A-IVI software for free.
What should I do if my 2022-2025 Mitsubishi Outlander or Outlander PHEV is on this recall?
Check your VIN to confirm your specific vehicle is included in recall 25V369. If it is, contact a franchised Mitsubishi dealer and ask for the A-IVI software update under Mitsubishi recall SR-25-001. The dealer repair is free.
Is the recall repair free?
Yes. Federal recall law requires the manufacturer to repair the defect at no cost, and Mitsubishi says dealers will update the A-IVI software free of charge at any franchised Mitsubishi dealer.
What is the safety risk?
The risk is reduced rear visibility when backing up. If the camera image freezes or does not appear, the driver has less view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing crash risk. Use mirrors and direct checks until the software update is complete.
What if my Mitsubishi was already repaired under recall 23V345?
You still need this new remedy if your VIN is included. Mitsubishi says recall 25V369 replaces and expands recall 23V345, and vehicles previously repaired under recall 23V345 need the new A-IVI software update completed.
