What's wrong?
The headlights on the 2023 Mercedes-Benz Glc 300 and Glc 300 4MATIC use horizontal aiming screws to set where the beam points across the road. A retaining cap covers those screws after assembly, so the headlamp aim stays locked and meets Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 for lighting equipment.
On affected vehicles, that retaining cap was not installed during production. Without the cap, the horizontal aim screw remains accessible, and the headlight can be adjusted outside the required range. A headlamp aimed too far left or right can reduce useful light for the driver or create glare for other drivers.
There is no warning sign before failure. The headlights still turn on, and the missing cap is not something an owner would notice from the driver seat. A Mercedes-Benz dealer can inspect the headlamps and install the retaining caps if the VIN is included.
Who's affected?
Covers both Glc 300 and Glc 300 4MATIC variants, with the same headlight retaining cap listed for each.

The year and model narrow the scope, but the VIN decides. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific SUV is included.
What's the safety risk?
Improperly adjusted headlights can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. Use extra care at night or in poor visibility until the dealer inspects the headlights and installs any missing sealing caps. Repair is free at any franchised Mercedes-Benz dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2023 Mercedes-Benz Glc 300 or Glc 300 4MATIC is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Mercedes-Benz dealer to schedule the free headlight sealing-cap inspection and cap installation that prevents improper headlight adjustment.
- Bring the recall notice if Mercedes-Benz mailed one, and reference recall number 25V365 when you call.
- Use extra care when driving at night until the 25V365 repair is complete, because improperly adjusted headlights can reduce visibility.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Mercedes-Benz technician inspects the headlights for the missing sealing caps and installs caps where needed. The recall repair is free, and parts and labor are covered. MBUSA is not offering a separate reimbursement program because the involved vehicles remain covered under the new vehicle warranty. If you have prior repair paperwork tied to this headlight condition, ask the service desk how the existing warranty coverage applies.
