What's wrong?
The intermediate steering shaft in 2022-2025 Orange Ev T-Series Electric Truck, E-Triever, and Husk-E trucks connects the steering column to the steering gear. When the operator turns the wheel, this shaft carries that movement down to the steering gear so the front wheels respond. The upper clamp and its bolt hold that shaft connection tight.
On affected trucks, the upper clamp bolt was not tightened to specification during assembly or after wheel alignment work. A loose bolt allows movement at the clamp, which puts the steering shaft connection in the wrong condition for normal driving. If the clamp hardware separates, the steering input no longer transfers through that connection as designed.
Before separation, the operator can hear a rattle from the steering system while driving. The operator can also feel steering play, meaning extra movement in the steering wheel before the truck responds.
