What's wrong?
The fuel return line assembly on 2025 Ford F-350 Sd and F-250 Sd trucks routes unused diesel fuel from the injectors back through the fuel system. Its connectors seal the hose ends so fuel stays inside the line while the engine is running and vibrating. This part sits in the engine compartment, so the connection has to hold pressure, heat, and movement.
On affected trucks, the supplier's hose insertion fixture was misaligned during assembly. When the hose and connector were pressed together, that misalignment put sideways force on the connector shoulders and left some connectors cracked. A cracked connector can open a path for diesel fuel to leak into the engine compartment instead of returning through the line.
Owners can notice a fuel odor around the truck. The odor can be accompanied by a check engine light, which is the signal Ford identified before the connector problem is found.
