Recall 25V272 affects 3 2022-2023 Ford F-150 Lightning BEV trucks for loose battery busbar fasteners. Repair is free at any franchised Ford dealer.
Ford is recalling 3 2022-2023 F-150 Lightning BEV trucks because fasteners inside the high-voltage battery pack were not tightened securely, which can cause electrical arcing at the bus bars. Electrical arcing raises the risk of fire, and a loss of drive power can raise crash risk; Ford dealers will complete the repair free of charge.

What's wrong?
The bus-bar links in the 2022-2023 Ford F-150 Lightning BEV are metal conductors inside the high-voltage battery pack junction box. They carry battery current across the junction box so the propulsion system receives power when the truck is being driven. Retention nuts hold those links tight, which keeps the electrical connection stable.
On affected trucks, one or more retention nuts on the battery junction box bus bars were removed in error during a rework operation. The torque was not checked again afterward. If a nut is loose or missing, the connection can move or gap under load, and electrical arcing can occur at the bus bars inside the battery pack.
Before power is lost, the driver can hear a loud noise while driving. The instrument cluster will show a "Stop Safely Now" message and a malfunction indicator light. The truck can coast to a stop, and the 12V battery keeps assisted steering and braking available.
Who's affected?
The same high-voltage traction battery component appears across the 2022 and 2023 model years.

The year and model narrow the scope, but the VIN decides. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific pickup truck is included.
What's the safety risk?
Electrical arcing raises the risk of a fire. A loss of drive power also raises crash risk. If you hear a loud noise while driving, see a Stop Safely Now message, or see a malfunction indicator light, steer and brake carefully, coast to a stop, and call the dealer. Repair is free at any franchised Ford dealer.
