What's wrong?
The 2025 Blue Arc BA4L-800 uses a high voltage Aries LFP battery pack to store the electricity that powers the propulsion system. The pack holds battery modules inside a sealed case, so the cells, wiring, and high voltage connections stay isolated from liquid and road exposure. The Battery Management System, or BMS, watches the pack for electrical isolation faults.
On affected vehicles, a fastener along the center spline of the battery pack was not seated correctly. That leaves a leak path in a pack that is supposed to be sealed. Liquid entering the battery pack can reduce electrical isolation or create a high voltage short circuit.
The warning sign comes from the BMS. If it detects a foreign substance causing an isolation fault, an amber or red warning icon appears on the dashboard and a scan tool can read the diagnostic code. If the fault is severe during vehicle start, the vehicle displays "Drive System Fault Charging and Propulsion Disabled" and disables charging and propulsion.

What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Blue Arc technician works with Our Next Energy to inspect the Aries LFP battery packs. If liquid intrusion or sealing damage is found, the pack is repaired or replaced as needed. Parts and labor are covered under the recall, so the owner does not pay for the recall repair. Shyft has a general reimbursement plan on file. If you already paid for this battery-pack repair before the recall notice, contact Shyft customer service and ask what documentation they require for a reimbursement claim.
