What's wrong?
The throttle pedal assembly in the 2023-2024 Peterbilt trucks is the driver's foot control for engine power. Inside the pedal, a magnet carrier helps the sensor read pedal position and tell the engine how much throttle the driver is requesting. The pedal has to move freely and return to idle when your foot comes off it.
On affected trucks, the magnet carrier was molded with an oversized diameter because of tool and mold-closing problems at the supplier. That extra size can make the pedal bind inside the assembly. Fluids around the pedal can make the binding worse, so the pedal responds slowly or sticks instead of returning cleanly.
The warning sign is a throttle pedal that feels like it binds while pressed. You also can notice the pedal failing to return to idle after you release it.
Who's affected?
Covers eight Peterbilt and Kenworth truck models from the 2023 and 2024 model years, all sharing the same throttle pedal assembly.

What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Peterbilt technician inspects the throttle pedal assembly and replaces the throttle pedal if the inspection shows it is affected. The recall repair is available now, and parts and labor are free. If you already paid for a throttle pedal repair tied to this condition before the recall notice, the manufacturer's standard reimbursement plan provides a path to claim documented expenses.
