What's wrong?
The rear identification lamps on 2017-2025 Palfinger Gls 55 Forklift and Fhs 55 Forklift units are three round lights mounted near the centerline at the back of the truck-mounted forklift. Their job is to help other drivers recognize the rear width and presence of the unit in low light or poor visibility. Federal lighting rules set where those lamps must sit so the rear outline is clear.
On affected units, the outer rear marker lights were installed in the incorrect location. Palfinger traced the issue after a dealer found the lamp placement during training, then inspection showed the same noncompliance across the recalled units. The lights still exist, but their position does not meet the required layout for rear identification lighting.
There is no warning sign before failure. This recall is about lamp placement, so the operator will not feel, hear, or see a mechanical change while using the forklift.

What's the safety risk?
Incorrectly positioned lights make the forklift less visible to other drivers and increase the risk of a crash. Use extra care around traffic, in low light, and when entering or crossing shared road areas until the lights are relocated. Repair is free at any franchised Palfinger dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2017-2025 Palfinger Gls 55 Forklift or Fhs 55 Forklift is included in this recall.
- Contact your nearest franchised Palfinger dealer to schedule the free repair.
- Schedule the steel-plate installation and marker-light relocation that moves the rear marker lights to the correct location.
- Bring the recall notice if Palfinger mailed one. If not, reference recall number 25V008 when you call.
- Use extra caution until the repair is complete because the incorrectly positioned rear marker lights reduce visibility to other drivers.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Palfinger technician installs a steel plate and moves the outer rear marker lights to the correct location. The recall repair is available now, and parts and labor are free. Palfinger's general reimbursement plan is on file for owners who paid out of pocket for the same marker light repair before the recall work was performed. Bring repair invoices and payment documentation to the service desk so the dealer can explain how the plan applies.
