What's wrong?
The Integrated Charging Control Unit, or ICCU, is the power electronics module that manages charging between the high-voltage battery, charging system, and 12-volt battery on affected 2022-2025 Genesis GV70 Electrified, Ioniq 5, GV60, and Ioniq 6 vehicles. Its normal job is to keep the smaller 12-volt battery supplied so the vehicle's control systems stay powered while the electric drivetrain operates.
On these vehicles, the ICCU can be damaged by overvoltage at the start and end of a charging cycle, or by heat load during charging and driving. When the vehicle detects that fault, it enters fail-safe mode. The ICCU then stops charging the 12-volt battery, and the vehicle can lose drive power as that battery runs down.
Owners can see dashboard warning lights, hear an audible chime, and see warning messages in the vehicle displays. Genesis also reports noticeable loss of motive power or speed during fail-safe driving over about 20-40 minutes.
Who's affected?
Spans four electric models across the 2022-2025 model years, with the ICCU assembly tied to both charging software and the battery system.

What's the safety risk?
Loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash because the vehicle loses motive power or speed while in traffic. Warning signs include dashboard warning lights, an audible chime, warning messages, or noticeable loss of power. If those signs appear, move out of traffic when safe and call the dealer. Repair is free at any franchised Genesis dealer.
What should I do?
