Recall 24V851 covers 2,490 2024-2025 Lincoln Navigator, Expedition, and F-150 vehicles for a cup plug oil leak. Repair is free at any franchised Lincoln dealer.
Lincoln is recalling 2,490 2024-2025 Navigator, Expedition, and F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L GTDI engine because a misaligned engine cup plug can cause a rapid oil leak. A rapid oil leak can stall the engine and increase crash risk, and oil near hot engine or exhaust parts increases fire risk; Lincoln dealers will complete the repair free of charge.

What's wrong?
The engine cup plug on affected 2024-2025 Navigator, Expedition, and F-150 vehicles is a small carbon steel plug pressed into a bore in the cylinder head. Its job is to seal that machined opening so engine oil stays inside the 3.5L GTDI engine while the engine runs under pressure.
During assembly, the hydraulic press that installed this plug was out of alignment. That pushed the plug into the cylinder head off-center and distorted it, which reduced how tightly the plug was retained in the bore. If the plug loses its seal, engine oil can escape quickly and the engine can lose oil pressure.
Owners can see a low oil pressure warning light in the instrument cluster with reduced engine power. Other warning signs include an oil leak, a burning smell, white smoke, or noise from the engine compartment.
Who's affected?
Across the listed models, the same carbon steel cup plug is named for the oil/lubrication defect.
| 2024 Lincoln Navigator | Oil/lubrication |
|---|---|
| 2024 Ford Expedition | Oil/lubrication |
| 2024 Ford F-150 | Oil/lubrication |
| 2025 Ford F-150 | Oil/lubrication |

The year and model narrow the scope, but the VIN decides. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific vehicle is included.
What's the safety risk?
A rapid oil leak can stall the engine and increase crash risk. Oil contacting hot engine or exhaust parts also raises fire risk. If you see a low oil pressure warning, reduced power, an oil leak, burning smell, white smoke, or engine noise, stop in a safe place and call the dealer. Repair is free at any franchised Lincoln dealer.
What should I do?

What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Lincoln technician inspects the engine cup plug alignment and replaces the plug when the inspection shows it is out of position. Parts and labor are covered under the recall, and the repair is available now. If you already paid for the same cup plug repair before the recall notice, the manufacturer's standard reimbursement plan covers documented expenses. Bring your repair paperwork and receipts to the service desk when you arrive.
