What's wrong?
The high-pressure fuel pump on certain 2023-2025 Honda Accord, Accord Hybrid, Cr-V Hybrid, Civic, and Civic Hybrid vehicles feeds gasoline to the engine under the pressure needed for normal operation. Inside that pump, a solenoid core helps control fuel delivery. The pump depends on that metal core staying intact so fuel stays sealed inside the assembly.
Honda traced the defect to cracked solenoid core components from supplier manufacturing. Machining chips created too much force during production, and separate plating work left hydrogen in the metal, which makes it brittle. During driving, those cracks grow until fuel escapes from the high-pressure pump.
Owners can notice a fuel odor while the vehicle is being driven or while it is idling. That smell is the warning sign that fuel is leaking from the pump area.

What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Honda technician inspects the high-pressure fuel pump and replaces it if the inspection shows the pump needs replacement. The recall repair is free, including parts and labor. Honda used its general reimbursement plan on file for this campaign, so documented out-of-pocket repairs already paid before the recall notice are handled through that plan. Bring receipts or repair paperwork to the Honda service desk and ask how to submit the reimbursement claim.
