What's wrong?
On the 2018-2024 Morbark M20, Eeger Beever 2230, Eeger Beever 2131, and Eeger Beever 1821 trailers, the PDM passthrough is part of the power distribution module. That module helps route electrical power to the engine. The wiring is supposed to stay clamped in place at the passthrough so it cannot rub or contact the PDM plate.
The problem starts with the nut that secures the wiring. If that nut was not tightened enough during PDM manufacturing, it can loosen during use. Loose wiring can touch the PDM plate, which can cause electrical arcing between the wire and the plate. That arcing can damage the wire coating and ignite nearby forestry byproduct.
There is no warning sign before failure. The loose fastener is inside the module area, so an owner or operator is unlikely to see the problem during normal walkaround checks.
