What's wrong?
In the 2024 Escape 17, Escape 19, Escape 21, Escape 23, and Escape 5.0 travel trailers, the Flush Mount Oven Range Elite uses an LED backlight circuit board for the cooktop range. That printed circuit board carries the small electrical paths that power the backlight behind the cooktop controls. It is supposed to stay insulated from moisture on the cooking surface.
On affected ranges, the circuit board lacks conformal coating in a passage between its internal layers. That coating is a protective seal over the electrical paths. Without it, liquid from the cooktop surface can collect in the board, create a short circuit, and make the board fail. The recalled condition involves the board overheating after that failure.
There is no warning sign before failure. Owners should treat backlight failure, unusual heat near the cooktop controls, or electrical odor as a reason to stop using the appliance and arrange the free recall repair.

At the dealer, an Escape technician cuts power to the LED backlights in the cooktop range and terminates the wiring, or removes the LED backlights entirely. The recall repair is free, and parts and labor are covered. Escape has a general reimbursement plan on file for eligible out-of-pocket repairs tied to this issue. If you already paid for a related cooktop backlight repair, bring invoices or other repair documents to the service desk and ask how to submit them under Escape's standard reimbursement plan.
