What's wrong?
The basket shaft pivot bracket on 2020-2024 Terex Xt Pro vehicles connects the operator's basket to the booms. The basket retaining pins hold that bracket connection in place so the basket stays locked in its intended position while a worker is in it. The bracket and pins have to fit together correctly under load.
In this recall, the concern is a replacement basket bracket used with the original retaining pins and hardware. Terex traced the problem to the retaining balls on the original pins, which are not able to withstand the force applied when installed in the replacement bracket. If both original pins disengage from the replacement bracket, the basket can unintentionally tilt.
The daily visual inspection before each shift can show whether the basket retaining pins are fully installed. On the remedied setup, the retaining pins visibly extend through the basket bracket tube. On the recalled setup, the original pins do not visibly protrude through that tube.
