Recall 24V420 affects 56 2023-2024 Fccc Xcr, Xbs, and Xcm chassis for fuel leaks. Free franchised Fccc dealer repair once available.
Fccc is recalling 56 2023-2024 Xcr, Xbs, and Xcm chassis because remote fuel filter hoses can separate from their fittings, causing a fuel leak or cutting fuel supply to the engine. A leak near an ignition source raises fire risk, and loss of fuel can stall the engine; Fccc dealers will complete the repair free once it is available.

What's wrong?
The remote fuel filter hose on the 2023-2024 Fccc Xcr, Xbs, and Xcm chassis is a diesel fuel line with quick-connect fittings at its ends. It carries fuel through the filter plumbing so the Cummins L9 engine gets a steady supply of clean diesel. The fittings are supposed to stay locked to the hose while the fuel system is under normal vibration and pressure.
On the affected chassis, the connector crimp on the fuel hose was not tight enough. That weak crimp lets the hose pull away from the fitting, which opens a path for diesel to leak out. If enough fuel is lost, the engine also loses its fuel supply and can stall or fail to run.
The warning signs are smoke or other visible signs of a fuel leak. People in or around the vehicle can also smell diesel fuel before the hose fully separates or while fuel is leaking.
Who's affected?
Covers three Fccc chassis models across the 2023 and 2024 model years, all tied to the fuel system.

The year and model narrow the scope, but the VIN decides. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific vehicle is included.
What's the safety risk?
A fuel leak near an ignition source increases fire risk, and loss of fuel can stall the engine and increase crash risk. Smoke, visible fuel, or diesel odor around the vehicle needs prompt attention: stop using the vehicle and call the dealer for instructions. Repair will be free at any franchised Fccc dealer once available.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2023-2024 Fccc Xcr, Xbs, or Xcm chassis is included in this recall.
- Use the owner letter DTNA mailed on July 8, 2024, to ask a franchised Fccc dealer when the free repair opens.
- Ask the dealer about the free fuel-filter-hose replacement that fixes hose separation, fuel leaks, and loss of fuel supply.
- Reference recall number 24V420 when you call Fccc or the dealer.
- Avoid driving if you smell fuel, see a fuel leak, or the engine stalls; contact the dealer before moving the chassis.
What happens at the repair
The planned dealer repair is to replace the remote fuel filter hoses that can separate from their fittings. Once the repair opens, an Fccc technician will replace the fuel filter hoses, and parts and labor will be covered under the recall. Because the final remedy is still under development, ask the dealer when they can perform the work and whether any interim guidance applies to your chassis. If you already paid for a related fuel filter hose repair, DTNA's general reimbursement plan on file covers documented eligible expenses. Bring repair invoices and payment records when you contact DTNA customer service or the dealer.

Frequently asked questions
What is recall 24V420?
Recall 24V420 covers 56 2023-2024 Fccc Xcr, Xbs, and Xcm chassis with remote fuel filter hoses that can separate from their fittings. That failure can cause a fuel leak or cut fuel supply to the engine. Cummins will replace the fuel filter hoses for free.
What should I do if my 2023-2024 Fccc Xcr, Xbs, or Xcm is on this recall?
Check your VIN to confirm your specific chassis is included in recall 24V420. If it is, contact a franchised Fccc service center or DTNA customer service at 800-745-8000. Reference DTNA recall F1003 and ask about the free fuel-filter-hose replacement.
Is the recall repair free?
Yes. Federal recall law requires the recall repair to be completed at no cost, and the remedy says Cummins will replace the fuel filter hoses free of charge. Parts and labor are covered for included vehicles.
What is the safety risk?
The safety risk is fire or stalling. A fuel leak near an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. A loss of fuel supply can also stall the engine, which increases crash risk if it happens while the vehicle is moving.
When were owners notified about recall 24V420?
Owner notification letters were mailed on July 8, 2024. If you bought the chassis used or never received a letter, check your VIN anyway. The year and model are not enough to confirm coverage.
