Recall 24V372 covers 14,912 2023-2025 Mercedes-Benz Eqe and Eqs electric vehicles for battery software shutdown. Repair is free at any franchised Mercedes-Benz dealer.
Mercedes-Benz is recalling 14,912 2023-2025 Eqe SUV 350+, Eqs SUV 450+, and other EQ electric vehicles because battery management software can shut down the high-voltage battery and cause sudden loss of drive power. That loss of power increases crash risk, and the Mercedes-Benz dealer repair is free.

What's wrong?
The affected part is the high-voltage battery management system software in 2023-2025 Mercedes-Benz electric vehicles. This software acts as the control layer for the traction battery, watching battery data and coordinating how the battery sends power to the drive system. When it works normally, it helps keep propulsion power available and controlled.
On affected vehicles, continuous diagnostic requests from other control units overload the battery management system memory. When that memory overload happens, the battery control module resets as designed, but the reset interrupts normal battery control. The vehicle can then reduce power output or, in rare circumstances, lose propulsion because the high-voltage battery shuts down.
There is no warning sign before failure. The driver will not receive a warning because of how this software failure happens, so the first notice can be reduced drive power or a sudden loss of drive power.

What's the safety risk?
A sudden loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash. There is no warning sign before failure, so treat any loss of propulsion as a reason to pull over safely and call the dealer. Repair is free at any franchised Mercedes-Benz dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2023-2025 Mercedes-Benz Eqe SUV 350+, Eqs SUV 450+, Eqe SUV 350 4MATIC, Eqe SUV 500 4MATIC, Eqs SUV 580 4MATIC, Eqs SUV 450 4MATIC, Redundant Eqs 450, Eqs SUV 680 4MATIC, Eqs 580, AMG Eqe SUV 53 4MATIC, AMG Eqs 53 4MATIC, AMG Eqe 53 4MATIC, Eqs 450+, Eqe 350 4MATIC, Eqe 350+, or Eqe 500 is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Mercedes-Benz dealer to schedule the free battery management system software update that prevents the high-voltage battery shutdown.
- Bring the owner letter if Mercedes-Benz mailed one. If not, reference recall number 24V372 when you call.
- Drive cautiously until the software update is complete. If the vehicle loses drive power, move out of traffic when safe and call the dealer.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Mercedes-Benz technician updates the battery management system software covered by the recall. The software update and labor are free under the recall and available now. If you paid yourself for a related battery management software repair before the recall notice, Mercedes-Benz uses its general reimbursement plan for documented expenses. Bring prior repair paperwork to the service desk so the dealer can explain the claim process.
