What's wrong?
The Suburban range in the 2023-2024 Cruiser Avenir, Embrace, Shadow Cruiser, Radiance, Stryker, Mpg, Twilight, and Essence has LED lights behind the oven or range knobs. A small circuit board powers those lights. Its job is to run the backlighting without adding heat around the knobs or face of the appliance.
On the recalled units, that circuit board was not sealed with the correct amount of protective coating. That coating is meant to keep contamination away from the board. Without enough coating, the board can fail, overheat, and melt parts around the lighted knobs.
Owners can see the problem before a full failure. The red lights can become warm, show signs of melting, or turn red by themselves when they should be off.

What's the safety risk?
An overheating circuit board increases the risk of a fire. Watch for red lights that become warm, show melting, or turn red by themselves. If you see those signs, stop using the affected lighting and schedule the dealer repair soon. Repair is free at any franchised Cruiser dealer.
What should I do?

What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Cruiser technician disconnects and cuts the circuit that powers the LED backlights in the cooktop range, then terminates the wiring so the backlight board is no longer powered. The recall repair is free, with parts and labor covered. If you already paid out of pocket for this repair, Cruiser's general reimbursement plan covers documented eligible expenses. Bring your repair paperwork and receipts to the service desk.
